Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme

Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme is a great way to reduce the amount of recyclable litter on our beaches and streets, and earn money at the same time! Since 1st November, you can drop off eligible containers at locations across the state. Each eligible container is worth $0.10.

What are eligible containers?

  • Most aluminium, glass, plastic and liquid paperboard (carton) drink containers between 150mL and 3 litres You can keep the lids on, they are recycled too!
  • Look for the 10c mark on the drink container label. It is often located near the barcode.
  • Not all drink containers are eligible for a refund. Generally excluded are those that are less than 150mL and greater than 3 litres. Many of these containers can still be recycled in your kerbside bins.

Refunds can be collected in several ways. Depending on the type of drop off location you can choose to donate your refund, get a voucher (redeemable for cash) or cash. All locations enable refunds to be donated to Beach Patrol Australia Inc.

Beach Patrol Australia including Love Our Street have been set up to receive donations. One way to do this is to get the CDS App for your region and set up your refund method as a donation...search for Beach Patrol/BeachPatrol, add us and then simply scan our barcode each time you drop your containers off!

Our donation partner scheme ID is C2000001025

As a wholly volunteer run organisation, we rely on grants and donations to help us continue our work. We are grateful for any support.

To find which region you are in, find your nearest drop off location and for full details visit www.cdsvic.org.au or visit your regional operator.
