The annual Spring Clean the City will be held on this day from 9 am to 1 pm.   Volunteers will be assigned streets within the CBD to collect littered drinkware and bring it back to the event site.  The piles of bottle, cans, cups and straws will be laid out on display for all to see.  The actual cleaning time will last two hours, followed by items sort time and photos.  Many of you have participated in previous SCTC events.   This year will be especially important as it is the last year before a container deposit scheme starts in Victoria, which will lead to a substantial reduction in littered drink containers.  SCTC results will be able to document this.

We will be conducting a mini Spring Clean the City litter clean up along both sides of the Yarra river for an hour.  This is part of the Zero Waste Festival.   We will clean from 9 to 10am and then sort the plastic litter into piles on the ground to show off to the visitors to the Zero Waste Festival.

BeachParol and Love Our street will be hosting a stall at this event.

By taking part, you’ll be joining a nationwide community of people choosing to be part of the solution. There will be a variety of activities and stalls throughout the day, and opportunities for you to have your say on how the issue of ocean litter can be solved. All equipment and guidance will be provided on the day.
