LOS 3030 Werribee

Love Our Street 3030 Werribee

Love Our Street aims to bring people together as a community to look after our environment, to keep our streets beautifully clean and stop litter getting into our creeks, canals, on to beach or in the ocean.

We meet on the 4th Sunday of the month 10.30am - 12noon.  Locations will be advised.

We aim to support the work of Beach Patrol by dealing with litter close to the source. Once a month, we meet at one of our local shopping streets or area of significant litter for a clean-up and a cuppa afterwards.

LOS 3030 Comben Drive Clean up 27.10.19 by 3030@loveourstreet.com.au

13 Love Our Street 3030 volunteers removed 94 kilos of litter (including recyclables) from the Werribe River area. The tally included 256 containers that could have been used in a cash for container scheme IF Victoria had such a scheme – still waiting on that.

Keven collected about 1000 cigarette butts, and Gary pulled out an old bike from the river. Nick and Steve tackled the enormous pile of casks, bottles and cans where people have clearly been drinking and leaving behind their containers.

LOS 3030 Werribee Train Station 22.9.19 by 3030@loveourstreet.com.au
A small crew today removed 114kilos of litter from the streets and carpark around Werribee Train Station. Thank you Arnold, Peter, Cathy, Lisa, Brenda & Luciana for helping to shift 4 shopping trolleys (all taken back to their various stores), a massive amount of op-shop gear that was dumped outside the charity bins (that was not suitable for those particular bins), some e-waste, furniture, around 2000 cigarett butts, a few dozen straws and 55 bottles and cans. If you think we enjoy doing this - WRONG. This site is a disgrace and despite some improvements, the area continues to be trashed. We can do better Werribee!! And happy birthday Ted - 13 today! Hope you have a great day.
