3194BeachPatrol Covering the Mentone Beaches

3194 BeachPatrol

3194 BeachPatrol looks after the picturesque beaches of Mentone.

Mentone beach is at the northern most end of a 20km stretch of open beach that ends at Frankston. The beach is backed by cliffs which were the subject of many famous paintings in the early 1900s. Access to the beach is via steps and a ramp from car parks off Beach Road. The beach is popular with locals and visitors alike especially in summer where dogs are able to be walked on leash.

3194 BeachPatrol was launched in early April 2014. The local residents and members of the  lifesaving club and surrounding school communities have banded together to help create a cleaner, safer beach for all to enjoy.

The three lengths of beach that 3194BeachPatrol cleans are 1) Charman Road to Kitchner Street car park, 2) Kitchener street car park to Mentone Hotel, 3) Mentone Hotel to Warrigal Road

3194 mentone beach patrol september wrap by 3194@beachpatrol.com.au

This month we had a clash with Spring Clean The City and Mentone Beach Patrol being on the same day

so a switch was made and our start time was moved to 2pm.

We had at least 5 Mentone Beach Patrollers attending Spring Clean the City which was great

but this probably effected our numbers at Mentone where we had 3 volunteers.

Quite a lot of rubbish was collected for our September clean.

13 bags of rubbish weighing 53kgs including 66 bottles and cans.

Or for the database 10 bags of rubbish weighing 38.9kgs plus 66 bottles and cans.

See you next month,

Paul.

3194 Mentone Beach Patrol August Wrap by 3194@beachpatrol.com.au

We had a few different starting times for our August Beach Patrol and I didn't get to see how many volunteers turned up

but there was quite a few full bags as well as partially filled bags so I estimate there were 7 of us.

Our total collection was 10 bags of rubbish weighing 26.6kgs including 33 bottles and cans.

For the database this is recorded as 9 bags of rubbish weighing 22.3kgs plus 33 bottles.

Hopefully I'll have the day off for our next beach clean and will be able to catch up with you all,

Paul.
