Beach Patrol Activities

01
For our June event we focused on Green Reserve in Northcote. It is the farthest South we have ventured. Merri Creek marks the border between Darebin and Yarra councils. If you’re going to have borders, ‘Sharing a Creek’ is the best kind. One reason for choosing this location, and the best reason, is to be close to David and Kate’s home on the account of the arrival of the newest member to their family.
Congratulations David and Kate!
It was a lovely sunny morning, so lots of passers by - on foot, on bicycles and in cars so we hope that this helped to spread the word. The team collected an astonishing 30 kilograms of litter. Please see our page for the breakdown on what was collected by our sixteen locals!

Starting up in November 2018, LOS 3197 complements the efforts of Beach Patrol 3197. We remove litter from local streets working out from Carrum Primary School or near Carrum shops. This prevents litter washing down drains, into Patterson River and Port Phillip Bay.

3207LOS Corporate Clean

3207LOS took Nestle Port Melbourne Staff out on a street clean around the local area.   They had 44 staff partcipating which seperated up into 8 teams.  .    We cleaned for just on two hours as some of the areas took a while to walk to. Most groups were not able to clean the whole designated areas as their bags were to full of rubbish and they could not carry any more.  An awful amount of litter was removed.   Over 1/3rd of the volume was littered drink bottles and cans.
