On Sunday morning 22 volunteers turned up and picked up 41.6kg of rubbish, which included 118 bottles and 70 cigarette butts. With a school, three sports fields and a playground all within close proximity, there is still a lot of litter to pick up in this area. LOS 3184 Elwood June 2019 Community Clean

Ten volunteers came along today, despite the chill. Thankfully, the wind had dropped and it remained fine.

It was great to welcome a new member and a young visitor. Thanks everyone for a great effort.

We collected over 14 kg of litter, including 16 drink bottles and cans, as well as 220 cigarette butts. Our efforts will mean the Ecocentre will have $300 to distribute to approved households and organisations as part of their Living Waters program, aimed at improving water quality in the Elster Creek Catchment.

In five volunteer hours, 9 kg of litter was gathered up: 8 bags full, 13 drink bottles and cans and 958 cigarette butts. All prevented from entering our drains, the canal and the sea.

Mentone Beach Patrol was lucky enough to have 6 employees from the company Cox Automotive devote a couple of hours of their day

to help clean up along Mentone Beach. Everyone seemed to enjoy the experience and they should be proud of their acheivements.

At first sight the beach area seemed clean but the enthusiastic group scoured the scub and shore to reveal the hidden rubbish.

All up we collected a massive 34 bags of rubbish weighing 198.6 kgs including 99 bottles and cans.

Great to have the team at Cox Automotive involved,

thanks Paul.

A lovely clean up with our littlest members Sam, Rosie and Oscar who are very good spotters of small things and pick up with their kitchen tongs.

We collected 3 balloons, 1 brick, 3 bongs, 1 table , 1 chair and some concrete.
