9.8 kgs - 1/2 bag of CDS & 1 poison bucket & glass fish tank
including 54 bottles and cans

 

Hi Team, 
Thank you for joining us in today! 
You are all so fantastic! We had 28 amazing volunteers join us to help clean up our beaches! In total we picked up 44.6kgs including 54 bottles and cans. 34.8kgs of rubbish and 9.8kgs of recyclables! We also had some of the straws picked up today from some of the bags of rubbish sorted through and put aside, in total there were 198 plastic straws. We must stop using plastic straws! 


The next clean is on July 28th at 10-11am Keast Park.

Thank you for joining us in today! With such little notice it was fantastic to see so many people come.
You are all so fantastic! We had 44 amazing volunteers join us to help clean up our beaches! In total we picked up 31kgs including 30 bottles and cans. 28.5kgs of rubbish and 2.5kgs of recyclables!

Elwood BeachPatrol had a hugely successful clean up on Saturday, 15th June with 27 volunteers turning up to clean a whopping 27kg of rubbish off the beach and surrounds. Thank you to everyone for your efforts in keeping this out of our oceans!

Good numbers again for our Mentone Beach Patrol for our June clean up with 13 volunteers.

We collected 8 bags of rubbish weighing 28 kgs of rubbish including 58 bottles and cans.

3016 June Beach Patrol
It’s winter which means the beach is quiet! But 12 fab volunteers managed to pick up 12.6kgs of rubbish in 60 minutes this morning. 52 recyclables were diverted from landfill and we picked up lots of cigarette butts and micro plastics too!

LOS3188 Hampton- "Casual" Clean June

Two volunteer's  casually collected rubbish in three seperate locations around Hampton and Sandringham near the station. Sandringham Station collected a massive 37.5kgs of litter with 10 bags was gathered up: 197 recyclables, 90 straws and thankfully no syringes. Simpson Reserve Park in Fewster Road collected 6kgs of rubbish with 3 full bags was gathered: 22 recyclables and 6 straws. Cattlefield Park collected 2.5kgs worth of litter was gathered: 46 recyclables, 25 straws and 22 food wrappers. All prevented from entering our drains, the canal and the sea.

River Bank Clean with 3207BP

A clean of the Yarra river banks and Moonee Ponds Creek outlet banks yielded a shocking amount of rubbish during a Paddle Against Plastic clean organsied by Ocean Crusaders .

Approx 100 people came down to join in, some in kayaks, others on foot.  The specially designed Ocean Crusaders boat could get people into otherwise inaccessible areas too.  So much polystyrene.
