A small but effective turn out with 8 people cleaning up 15kgs of litter on a very sunny day. We had our new Coordinator Cathy, backed up by her son Simon taking in all the details like champs and getting on with things. Hopefully next time around we'll see the usual 25+ people turn up.

Elsternwick Park Love Our Street (EPLOS) 3186 Clean Up Australia Day

Twelve volunteers did a great job to remove litter from the reserve today despite the blustery conditions. Fewer waterbirds about due to the low levels while Melbourne Water works to deal with the upstream blockage.

Great going everyone.

Thanks for attending the Clean Up Australia Day Clean at Seaford Pier March 2020
We had 24 wonderful volunteers who collected 26.5kgs total, 13kgs of recycling and 13.5kgs of litter, including 91 bottles and cans.

FC Council ute present at site when arrived at 8.30am from a distance appeared to have 4 orange bags in the back of ute

Site appeared a lot cleaner than have previous experienced.

A volunteer was noted to remark that it seemed as if someone had cleaned it up very recently.

Last year in 2019 there a FCC representative collecting rubbish however I asked him for what he collected and he gave it to us so we could include it in our count.

Lots of cigarette butts however, one amazing volunteer collected approximately 100 butts + on her clean

A lot of the cans/bottles very old

2 dvd cases

1 syringe

5 odd pairs of shoes

2 pairs of underwear

Towel

Fishing rod

Part of a boat

Bait container

Fishing line

3 balls

Oil container

Clothing

3205 South Melbourne February Beach Clean

The weather definitely did not coorporate: the rain fell horizontally.  The sun didn't help: clouds blocked its warming rays. The wind wasn't partnering: it blew in our faces.

But 12 hardly souls came down to clean the beach, even if not all of them were around for the photo!
