3199's 2016 Clean Up Australia Day/March Clean Up

When CleanUp Australia Day came around, it seemed only fitting that we registered a site and took part in this National day of litter collection. In total, we had 43 people attend which to date is our biggest attendance on record for our group. It is a good thing too when you look at the figures!

We expected to find a large number of cigarette butts, even anticipated to come across the odd syringe which incidentally we didn't even find one, but one thing that we didn't anticipate was the 3Kg's of Dog facies that were collected.

I'd also like to thank all of our members who came along as well as Peta Murphy - Labour Candidate for Dunkley, and Paul Edbrook - State Member for Frankston, Sheridan and the team from Fit Body Fit Mind in Playne St, Members of Frankston Beach Association and the many members of the community who came along and supported us today. Without your help, we may not have been able to remove as much litter as we did, so again, I thank you.

20 volunteers hit the sand at Bonbeach to take 52kg of rubbish off the beach.  One member found some tools, possibly stolen so after we had finished a trip to the cop shop followed.  Hope they find their way home!
