Mordialloc 3195 May Beach Clean
Great non rainy clean for May. So many cigarette butts out there and little red lids from the fish soy sauce. Seems to never end. A huge thank you to the volunteers. You are fabulous!

3205 May Beach Clean

A dreary but bright day saw a nice turnout of 3205 Beach Patrol faithful, as well as some new bodies.

As has happened in the past few cleans, the beach initially looked quite clean. From a distance. But it was quickly evident that it was NOT clean at all, and we probably had our biggest haul in the pasat few clean sessions!

26 volunteers joined the inaugural litter clean up in Werribee city centre for LOS 3030. The litter was quite extensive around the cafes, food outlets, car parks and riverside. Much of the litter collected was single use plastics or food containers and cigarette butts. Larger items like chairs, hub caps and styrofoam boxes were also collected. An unusual piece of litter was an almost complete food processor and a passport! Overall we collected 125kgs.

LOS 3030 first clean up included two Wyndham City Councillors, several members from Beach Patrol 3030 and the Werribee River Association, Jill Sokol from Love Our Street 3184(and founder of Love Our Street) and many members from Transition Wyndham. It was a good team effort on a fine autumn morning.

Cracking day for our April clean up on Parkdale beach. We had a good turn of 20 volunteers including some new starters. Always great to add some new faces to our growing list of regulars. In 1 hour we managed to collect 38 kg and of rubbish and recycling from the foreshore which included 2 big bags of cigarette butts.

Already looking forward to our May Clean up, especially if this awesome weather hangs around.

Happy Clean Up Australia Day #CUAD Parkdale! We had 25 volunteers out in force collecting 18kg of rubbish that consisted of cigarette butts and small plastic waste. We also had our biggest haul of balls. Must be some sad dogs or people went for 6 and out in beach cricket.
Great to see a few new faces today and faithful regulars. Special shout out to Narelle Derix for her amazing CUAD cake. It tasted as good as it looked.

What a cracking day we had yesterday for our February Clean Up with 18 enthusiastic volunteers that included a few new faces which is great to see. Together we collected over 30kg of rubbish. Sadly the volume of cigarette butts was appalling. We collected a full bag in the Antibes St beach car park alone. Find of the month was definitely a toilet seat.

See you all again shortly as we move out of our normal cycle for March to coincide with Clean up Australia day on March 4th at 10am. That's the same weekend as the Mordialloc Festival so there's another great reason to be down at the beach.
